Dr. Chin specializes in the medical, laser and surgical treatment of conditions that affect the retina and vitreous. His areas of expertise and interest include age-related macular degeneration (AMD), geographic atrophy, diabetic eye disease, macular edema, retinal vascular occlusions, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, retinal tears, and retinal detachments.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Chin earned his bachelor’s degree in both Economics and Biology at Cornell University. He earned his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Chin completed his internship in internal medicine at Boston University Medical Center and his residency training in ophthalmology at New England Eye Center / Tufts University. He completed his fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston and New England Eye Center / Tufts University.

An accomplished researcher, Dr. Chin has published numerous peer-reviewed studies in journals including Opthalmology, Retina, and Eye on the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic retinopathy, macular edema, macular degeneration, macular hole closure, idiopathic retinal vasculitis and more.

Dr. Chin is a Clinical Associate at Tufts University School of Medicine, where he teaches medical students and residents. He previously held the academic appointment of Teaching Associate at Weill Cornell Medical College.
